Rubber Stamp Sale

Well moving out is getting closer, having to make a dramatic downsize of my crafting goodness as I will not have the space in my own home that I have at my mom's house so I am adding loads of rubber stamps to my Stash Sale Blog. If you like Magnolia, Sarah Kay and whiff of joy stamps keep checking back as I will be uploading loads of them today and tomorrow as I go through my box's. All my stamps are well looked after and treated with care! Most are still like new and don't even look used, some aren't used at all. I am doing free postage to the UK But will have to ask for something towards postage overseas.

My project for this challenge: Shape Up, is a little christmas tree ornament. Made in printed vellum from stash (no idea who made it, it was a 12x12 sheet) Poked through holes following the pattern and then filled it with pot-pourri. Wild Orchid, Just Magnolia, Friday Sketchers & Pro-Markers

My brand spanking new Magnolia Stamp Club kit arrived on Saturday so I whipped it out and started inking it up straight away!! Had real fun making this card, but I will admit I messed up a few times so I had to recycle a few parts into other parts. I had the brilliant idea of using the doily Marianne Designs die around the image, so I stamped away cut away and then went hrmmphh it looks cack!! So I re cycled it and turned it over and coloured it with distress ink and tah-dah my idea is re-born, shame I wasted some water colour paper though. So Challenges I am entering this into

I Love Pro-Markers: Think Pink - self explanatory which part is used to fulfil this challenge. I have used Aqua-Markers though so I hope this is ok.

Passion for Pro-Markers: Recycle - The ribbon came off a Christmas pressie from last year, I think that is suitably recycled.

Wild Orchid Challenge: Stitch it up - Did a little faux stitching ala Dyan Reaveley style.

Friday Sketchers: The sketch - I didn't add on the flowers in the sketch because it looked too much for my taste, hope this is ok.

Just Magnolia: 2 X 2 - Images are the new Magnolia stamp club, I have used 2X stamps, 2X papers, 2X ribbons, 2X main focal colours (slightly lying as their is a bit of gold in their too but I claim artistic license!!)

Well its Sunday morning so that means its time for Keep it Simple!! This weeks challenge is ''Seeing Stars'' and what a fab challenge too especially so close to christmas.

I went with a traditional scene but slightly modern being a collage stamp. Decoupaged it up in two places and made my own background with book page and distress ink, as the challenge says ''keep it simple''. This weeks challenge over at Keep it Simple is ''Bling it''. This was actually a really hard challenge for me as I am not very comfy with ''Bling'' and either go over the top or not at all. So for my Design Team project I decided I would try go a subtle as possible and make a very simple pair of earrings. Punched out a piece of paper with the Martha Stewart daisy punch drew it out onto shrink plastic then cut it out, shrank it and this was the hard part, one went totally wrong and broke, so if you choose to do this then be careful. For the bling I have added some Papermania flat backed gems. I am real happy with the result.

This weeks challenge at Keep it Simple is a great theme - Give us a Swirl. For my card I raided my scrap paper box did a bit of ripping and tearing dry brushed on some gesso and stamped the sentiment. Very simple and took less than 20 mins to complete. Sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts. Pop on over and join in this weeks prize is a fab stamp from Sassy Designs.

(I am not on my own computer as it is in the shop being repaired so sorry for the image quality I have no way to edit it correctly, the image will be updated once I get my computer back)

Been having a play with the Letraset AquaMarkers that I won from Passion for ProMarkers, I must admit at first I thought these are rubbish, but I made the fatal mistake of trying to use them like ProMarkers. Once I used them as they are intended (after e-mailing and watching a video done by the lovely Kirsty Wiseman)I have changed my mind and decided they are actually quite fab, still not as good as ProMarkers which are 5 mins and your image is done, they take time and effort to use but have wonderful results.

So this card I am entering into a few challenges.

Image is brand new Japanese Magnolia, coloured with AquaMarkers: for the skin I used eggshell with rose blush for the cheeks, hair is lamp black, dress is storm blue and periwinkle and the flowers are rose blush. Papers from Papermania and ribbon from stash with tumbled glass distress ink edges. Sparkly parts are from a Sakura gel pen.

Challenge 2 over at Keep it Simple is a great theme - Take a leaf. My card for the design team is a pre printed Papermania card from a very old goody bag (I think). Coupled with a rub-on that was not in a packet so I don't know the brand sorry and 3 skeletal leaves, again were not in a branded packet so I don't know where they are from. To adhere them to the card I used Japanese Washi tape that I found on Etsy. As a whole the card took about 10 minutes to think up and create. Hi everyone, I am very pleased to announce that I have been chosen to join the Keep it Simple Design Team!! Whooop whooop. Keep it Simple is a new challenge blog with the aim of keeping it simple!! So for my first official design team card I have used a Whiff of Joy image coloured with Pro-Markers, a double sided sheet of paper from Anna Griffin and an already die cut tree also from Anna Griffin. As in the rules for the design team the card took me under 30 mins to create, to be sure I watched Friends and it was finished before the episode was.

This weeks Tuesday Taggers Challenge is Sunshine, and I am combining this challenge with A Pocket Full of Posies which is all that glitters. I have made a little tag with some cosmic shimmer paint for the background, dreamweaver crackle embossing paste for the sun rays and shimmery paper to stamp the children on the bench on, then coated with crackle paint in rock candy. Love how this one has turned out but it doesn't look as good in the photo as it does in real life as the crackle detail hasn't photo'd well. The stamp is an old Prima one.

Card is made of acetate from a fill your own box at the Kanban outlet shop in Bradford, Music paper from stash, Image is Magnolia coloured with Pro-Markers, flower is made with the new Magnolia die. Sentiment is Tim Holtz. The little bling gem pins were from the lovely Anne.

Sorry folks but this one isnt to my usual standard, we are having to face the long 2 week time hole in which time seems to be standing still while we wait for Grandad to pass on from terminal cancer. This was just the best i could do, really i should throw it in the bin as its quite dreadful. Anyway the sketch is from Sketch Saturday, The lace is for Wild Orchid Challenges, the flocked snowflakes are for Whiff of Joy and lastly its no designer paper for the Winter wonderland challenge.

Punch is the TSV from QVC last weekend, Image is Whiff of Joy coloured with pro-markers and purple card is bazil bling and really cool looking.

This weeks challenge over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp is a fab sketch which I have combined with the I Love ProMarkers challenge, distress. I didn't want to go over the top with distressing as I thought it looked a little odd so only the main image has its edges distressed with a neat little gadget from Heidi Swapp simply called edge distresser. Image is Magnolia coloured with ProMarkers, Ink is distress ink in Tea Dye and papers are the Once Upon a Time stack from DCWV, I love this stack and its almost gone :(

Image Transfer With Packing Tape Tutorial

I cant say that I invented this technique and I really dont know who did but I think its fab!! So I thought after a few people asked that I would do a mini tutorial.

Items required: Printer, Piece of card that will go through the printer, Packing tape, Bone folder, Scissors (maybe a plaster).

Step 1: Cover the card in packing tape. I found it easier to go the shortest distance, you want to keep it wrinkle free and smooth it out flat as you are placing it down. If you have really good coated card and really crap packing tape this process is really simple.

Step 2: Cut the excess off and then burnish it down with a bone folder, don't be tempted to fold the tape round the back, you will have problems with your printer. I left an area at one end with no tape on it as my printers annoying and won't pull it through with tape on it.

Step 3: Find copyright free image/bought downloads and do the usual manipulation to get them to the size you want. Please note: If you print words they need to be backwards!!!!

Step 4: You do have a little play time as the ink wont dry on the packing tape but don't wait too long. Carefully place the images face down onto your intended transfer surface and hold them in place, don't let go until you are done. Burnish the back and presto you have your image transfer. If you hold it all together at one end you can carefully lift the none-held end to check how the transfer is coming on, as you can see on my lady transfer I didn't burnish enough where the line's of tape meet but for this example I am leaving it to show you how not to do it!!

Here's the 3 examples together. Left printed on plain paper, Middle the end result transfer, Right the transfer. The good part about this is you can just wipe off the remaining ink with a baby wipe and use your image transfer card over and over or until in my case the printer chews it up and wont spit it out!!

This card is a combination of Winter Wonderland Challenge - Strawberry's & Cream and Sunday Sketch & Stamp providing a really simple and elegant sketch. I must say the whole strawberry & cream theme had me stumped for quite a while this morning and I was almost going to give up, but rummaging through my Christmas stamp box the idea sparked and here it is. Cream card, Fired Brick Distress Ink, Anna Griffin Holly Leaf stamp and a really really old collage stamp from Hero Arts. Ribbon I think is Papermania, again really old.

Sketch Saturday 106 & Just Magnolia Challenges

This card has been made for the Sketch Saturday Challenge 106 and the Just Magnolia Challenge - Lace Borders. The lace is hard to see but it is pleated and goes down the middle. Image is from Magnolia coloured with Prisma pencils and the lace I got in a 50p grab bag from a fab fabric shop in Liverpool yesterday when I went out with some crafty friends.

Friday Sketchers & Winter Wonderland Challenges.

Phew haven't been around for a week!! Its been pretty hectic, the kind of hectic where you do loads but actually look like you have done nothing at all. So I sat in bed last night watching Dirty Dancing on the telly and coloured this lovely image I bought from the Harrogate show ages ago.

I am entering this into 2 challenges, firstly Friday sketchers challenge 105 which provided the fab sketch, love simple clean elegant ones like this and secondly the Winter Wonderland challenge which is love at Christmas. Image is coloured with pro markers and papers I have no idea where they came from. Not sure who makes the stamp it doesn't say on the side, but I think I bought it from the stamp addicts stand at the show.

Jigsaw Piece

Janet asked if anyone would like to decorate one of her huge jigsaw pieces for her with a theme of ''home''. I love this sort of challenge so jumped at the chance, but when it actually arrived I was abit stumped and did just look at it for a couple of days. While trying to get a box from the top of a cupboard a stamp set hit me on the head, annoyed at first but then the light bulb went off. The plate was full of owls and little houses and tree branches so tah-dah!! Coloured with ProMarkers and 3D'd the branch and house, background actually has loads of layers starting with a book page, gesso and loads of stamping. Stewart Gill yummy byzantia paint to edge it and then covered with distress crackle paint in rock candy - now here's where the trouble began. The crackle paint smudged all my green ink that were leaf stamps and sucked the colour of the pro-markers up into the layer of crackled then once dry the crackle fell off where the pro-marker colouring was so I had to put on another layer very thinly and prey it stuck, which it did. Very odd indeed I shall remember this next time I use the crackle paint.

As I used ProMarkers for this I am entering it into the Passion for ProMarkers anniversary week challenge.

Janet very kindly made me this little plaque as a thank you for decorating the jigsaw piece, isn't it gorgeous!!! It currently has pride of place on my wall.

Sods Law strikes!!

So last week the other half announces ''oh I booked 2 weeks off im not in work monday'' Oh that was nice to tell me the day before - internal panick starts!! I havent got him a birthday pressie (which is tomorrow) I havent done any crafting at all (no birthday card) so they messed up his shifts and hes ended up working this morning. Perfect I thought time to go into town and make a card, well he let me sleep in so I didnt get up till after 10, then Mom needed me for an hour then I finally got started on the card. By this time it was 12 and he phones as the bus went past him so he needed to be picked up. Rushed card i'm not happy with it but nothing I can do about that and no pressie - I think I officially fail as a girlfriend tomorrow!! (writing this while hes making a coffee! thats the only time I get on my own!)

Its that time again!!! Katharina is holding her bi-monthly guest designer call. This time the challenge is to use orange, red and one other colour (black and white being allowed). So I chose to use orange as the predominant colour and red with green as background colours.

I am really happy with how this one turned out but have struggled to get a good photo of it. Image and papers are from Magnolia. Being my Nephews birthday in a few weeks I though perfect time to get my thinking cap on, I never know what to do for him and usually cop out and buy a card instead, cardinal sin I know! The Whiff of Joy part of the card is the sketch turned on it's side, in place of the girly flourish I put the Sinbad character and tried to keep it clean and simple, it was very hard!

I actually dont have that much in the way of christmas backing papers so I made this one myself from tumbled glass distress ink and a very large creative expressions stamp. The reindeer image is from whipper snapper and coloured with my trusty promarkers.

This weeks sketch for Friday Sketchers is their 100th sketch!! I really had fun making this for this challenge. I am also entering it into the I Love ProMarkers challenge 13 which is ''wings'' I really do love Magenta stamps, this set has to be one of my favorites but very hard to colour with pro markers. I really had a struggle with the flowers, they are from Prima and are some sort of gauze type material, they rip as soon as you look at them and all in all get a 0/10 rating from me, pretty crappy flowers, nightmare to try glue down too.

Well I had to rip and cut the first cat image off as the pinflair glue gel had come through and marked it really badly, for future don't use pinflair glue gel with pro marker images!! Took this one outside to photo as the sky is so clear and bright and a lovely day.... then I got a splinter when I brushed off the bench to make a clean spot, sods law!!.

E-Bay/paypal Sellers Warning

Well i have just been bitten by e-bay and paypal. Get proof of postage it says to cover yourself for lost post - this is not the case, if you dont pay extra and get a tracking number you are up the creek without a paddle and absolutely nothing you can do to stop your buyer getting their money refunded leaving you out of pocket, in my case it is £40 plus e-bay fees plus paypal fees.

Dont make the mistake i did thinking that a proof of postage receipt is all you need to stop your customer getting their cash back if the item goes AWOL. Get that tracking number!!!

Sleepiest cat ever!! He had been out all night and all morning then appeared mid afternoon yesterday barely able to keep his eyes open, I had to make the bed so he would go to sleep!! Spoiled rotten or what!!!

This weeks challenge at Just Magnolia is to follow a tutorial for a tent card, i adapted it to make it in my eyes easier but with the same result. Shimmer sprayed some flowers from Crafty Feeling and added some card candy. Coloured with Prisma pencils and hand sewn background.

Deep Edge Daisy Fan Tutorial

I have been patiently waiting for a few people who said they would do a tutorial on how to make the Martha Stewart TSV Deep Edge Daisy Boarder Punch into a chain of flowers, nothing as yet has actually appeared so i decided to work it out for myself and it is amazingly simple. The edges are a bit ragged on my example but i was working it out on cheap copy paper that didn't cut so well.

Cut the length what ever you want it at, the depth of the paper is the key, so simple you will kick yourselves, cut it 2 1/2 inch deep. Happy punching!!

The challenge this week at Tuesday Taggers really perked my interest, a couple of weeks ago they said ''save your bits of rubbish from christmas'' So i did and then my mother threw most of it away, all i had left was this tag with a cute bell on it that really jingles too!! So presto changeo....

And here we have it, Embossed front and back with red glitter embossing powder, green inside.... now heres the fun bit, it wouldn't stick together so i had to get out the pinflair and squash it for an hour, took a fast pic and its still being squashed as i type. I made it so it will be a hanging tree decoration next christmas.

I joined the Crafty Feeling Bloom Club a while ago and so far have had 5 kits. I must say i am impressed, every one i have recieved i have had no problem with at all and they have each been brimming with goodies and blooms. I was alittle short for a Christmas Fair so i turned some of the blooms into brooch's. Sprayed with my own mixture of ranger distress ink refill's and blonde moment pearl pigments to make them all sparkly.

A Humbling Day

Tomorrow is my Grandads 80'th Birthday, Today is Remembrance day. We had a lovely dinner with tables full of guests their to celebrate (actually 5 birthdays in November in my family!!) So it is kind of a joint part too, but special this year as we didn't expect Grandad to actually still be here. Anyway one of his best friend came to the party, but I have never met this man before and I couldn't tell you his name, everyone called him Colonel He was sporting loads of medals but one in particular is very humbling, He received a medal from the Prime Minister of France for being one of the first to land at Normandy. Very humbling.

Sad state of affairs

Well I am taking an art class, a proper one not a card making class. So needing some supplies I thought ahh lets head into town and go to the art shop, now this shop is an Aladdins cave ranging from professional art supplies to card making to scrap booking to jewelry making. To my horror when I arrived the sign said ''CLOSING DOWN'' ''EVERYTHING MUST GO''. After speaking to the staff the shop has gone into liquidation and they will be closed forever this time next week. This is a very sad day for a shop that has been trading for almost 15 years. So if you are local to me get yourself down to the The Art Centre, Halifax before its gone.

Support your local shops or you too will experince the shock I did.

Packed full of techniques with easy to follow instructions and pictures, full of inspiration and challenges. This book is a must for anyone interested in mixed media. I really wanted to join in last weeks just magnolia challenge but time ran away from me so i didn't get chance. This weeks challenge however, is a fab sketch. I just got my hands on the dragonfly Tilda, but it does lend itself to being a bee also which inspired the yellow colour scheme. I had originally done this image with darker shades of yellow and black and blue but i broke the cardinal rule in my rush to colour the image..... I did the black first which bled into the yellow and that was a ruined image, so learning my lesson i took more time on this one and followed the basics of lightest colour first and bingo done in no time at all.

Sorry for the dark image, its gray and raining cant get it any brighter.

What a day!! Part 2

Also at the class yesterday we got to play with the new alcohol ink colours and loads of Tim Holtz stamps. Varying techniques in both the inks and stamping, I have fallen in love with the linen card stock we used, the way it took the ink gave such a distress feel to the finished look, love it love it love it! Lucky for us but not the bank manager the new inks arrived while we were in class so given the bad year I have had so far, decided to buy the whole lot. Ben kindly opened it all up and sorted all the inks for us ready for the end of the class, hes so kind. Also I had a lovely suprise when I walked into the class to see the wonderful Joyce aka: Ribbon Lady sat at the table, so nice to spend the day crafting with a lovely lady and a lovely teacher. On a whole much fun was had by all!!

Christmas come early

Well it is April and since its spring I thought I would have abit of a spring clean..... this lead to me finding a very old Anna Griffin TSV I got from QVC ummm 2 years ago? Well instead of finishing off the spring clean I couldn't resist using my new Whiff of Joy stamps, above Willow with Lantern and below Willow with Muff. Both are coloured with prisma pencils and sansodor on smooth white card, everything else was in the kit.

Busy Week

This week I have been busy as bee with crafting. I recently received the cutest Tilda stamps I have ever seen, Tilda with Lamb and Tilda with Bunny. Both images are coloured with Prisma Color Pencils and then blended with Sansodor and a paper stump. The papers came from one of them awful £1 shop type ''Scrapbook Kit'' if you can call it that. I got it for Christmas, well its the though that counts, most of it went into the bin.

Also this week I have started a project I have been wanting to do for a while, My lovely hunny bought me some 10 second studio tools for my birthday and i have a doodlebug house, well i think you can guess, i am in the middle of ''metaling it up'', not going to show it half done but will put up full pics of it when i am finished.

Lastly, this week I have made near 20 ATC's to take with me on Saturday to the Harrogate show to swap with all the lovely Do-Crafters. See yah their!!

Feeling a bit better today after the last few weeks so i put together this little birthday card. I love the stamp its so cute and tiny. This is only a C6 standard size card. Background papers from DCWV Rockstar stack.

Play Day

Last week in a crafting class at Samual Taylors we had a play day. Pictured above is wax paper put through the cuttlebug in embossing folders and then ironed on to a piece of paper, you have to make sure you iron it well or it wont work. Once ironed let it cool then gently rub over with an ink pad, take a piece of kitchen roll and gently buff the ink to make it smooth. Below is the card we made from one of the finished pieces under the direction of the tutor Liz.

The next things we did as above were different tags. The first is using a paint dabber in a dabbing motion to create texture and then some crackle paint. The second is a mixture of paint dabbers and ink. The third was using crafty notions sprays and distress inks with grunge board. I like the third one best i think.

The other thing i tried out was new versamark inks that are like the watermark pad but in silver and gold. You can see the effect stamped onto the black card. I cant say that i was impressed with them so i don't think i will be buying them. Love the purple paper tho.

Today we say a loving goodbye to my Grandma Mary Jones who sadly lost her battle with cervical cancer and died in the early hours of this morning. Missing you allready.

Well this year has started off pretty badly so far, First of all grandma became very ill with a virus, then had another virus and has spent more time in hospital than at home. With her immune system being so weak from the chemotherapy for her cervical cancer this is not a uncommon occurrence apparently, but all the same its not a nice thing to happen. Then to make matters worse Patch decided to have his breakfast yesterday go out and come back with a half mangled jaw, naturally i was in full panic mode and carried him off to the lovely vets inside pets at home in huddersfield who cleaned him up, the very handsome vet described it as the equivalent of a bad bruise so not to worry. He had pain killers which made him stoned all night and an antibiotic jab and an antiseptic wash to take home for me to do every day and cost me a small fortune but he is going to be fine thats what counts. Tho i must admit seeing him in pain did make me cry too, im such a wimp. Well lets hope i can get some crafting done and finish off some gamsol cards!!
